Rum Bar Helps Aid Haiti

Philadelphia’s premiere Caribbean-themed bar and restaurant, Rum Bar, will be joining the efforts to help aid the citizens of Haiti.

”We have so many regulars from Haiti, so it really hit home,” Rum Bar owner Adam Kanter said after he saw the devastation the island nation suffered from the earthquake.
Rum Bar is making it easy for people to donate to Haitian relief efforts.  There are wooden donation bins at either end of the bar where patrons [or walk ins wishing to donate] simply put what they can in the jar. Kanter says Rum Bar will match all funds raised and money will be donated to the American Red Cross for Haitian Relief on January 29th.
A second collection will take place throughout the month of February to further aid this impoverished country so close to our borders.
“You don’t have to come here to drink or eat to donate; you could just stop in and put what you can in the jar and I’ll match it,” Kanter says, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Haiti and we just want to do our part to help,” he adds.
