Do Something Epic

463986744_362405b717I’ve always thought that I would be more than I am at twenty-five. I’d have lived abroad, did the whole Paris Hemingway thing, gotten my MFA, and would have written a novel by now. People who create epic art at such a young age both fascinate and frighten me. At different points in my life I have been obsessed with Van Gogh, Fitzgerald, Madonna and Karen Russell. What do they have within them that I don’t? How have they attained so much in such a short period of time?

I love walking into cafes and watching people write. Is the man sitting by the window with his laptop and yellow fedor creating the next Great American Novel? Local screenwriter Mark Erlbaum certainly created his modern day masterpiece within the walls of a cafe.

Erlbaum wrote a movie script in West Philadelphia’s Green Line Cafe. His script his called Cafe and is actually going to be produced by the same legendary team that did Napoleon Dynamite. There is going to be a casting call tomorrow in Center City for the following roles:
